    • Videography 101 (Main)

      Step into the Hive's state-of-the-art recording studio and film a short video of yourself in front of our green screen. Then, spend some time becoming familiar with video editing software while working with your footage. Registration is required. You must complete Hive Safety Training before registering for this workshop.

    • Flamenco Dance Class for Seniors

      Flamenco Dance class teaches the various rhythms of different Palos (genre) of flamenco. You will learn coordination of footwork, body, arms, and fingers movements.

      Cambridge residents 60 and older can enjoy music and a quiet atmosphere to relax and get centered as they fill in the outlines of paper Mandalas with colored markers.

    • Wellness for Seniors: Tai Chi Paradigm

      Main Library, Community Room, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

      Join us in this 12-week Tai Chi practice, which focuses on the mind and body connection. Tai Chi is a fluid sequence of movements choreographed in a low impact routine. Sifu Mynor Diaz has been learning and teaching Tai Chi classes for over 20 years. He has taught classes at five VA Boston Healthcare System locations and at Senior Centers. Note: We will be running two separate Tai Chi Paradigm series this year, a Wednesday series and a Friday series. Due to the popularity of this series, we expect participants to attend all the classes. Please register for only one of the series. Sponsored by the Cambridge Public Library Foundation

    • Beginner ESOL Class (Central Square)

      Central Square Branch, 45 Pearl St., Cambridge, MA 02139

      Join us for an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Class. This class will be taught at a beginner level. No testing is needed. For more information call Maria Balestrieri at 617-349-4013.

    • Toddler Story Time (O'Connell)

      O'Connell Branch, 48 Sixth St., Cambridge, MA 02141

      We invite children and their grown-ups to join us for 15-20 minutes of songs, stories, and rhymes. No registration is required. Please call 617-349-4019 for location and details.       During this reservation period, anyone who has completed Hive training and is badged to use equipment or studio(s) can reserve Hive equipment or studio spaces. Staff will assist participants as they are able.

    • Kids' Classic Fantasy Book Group (O'Connell/Virtual)

      Our monthly Kids' Classic Fantasy book group is for kids aged 10-14. Check out a copy of the book beforehand, or download it from the Libby app. Our February book is No Flying in the House by Betty Brock. This book group will meet virtually and in person at the O'Connell Branch. Please register below if you would like to attend virtually. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants one hour before the event. Need a laptop or hotspot to participate? Call the O'Connell Branch at 617-349-4019.
