The new Valente Branch Library will open in fall 2019 as part of the King Open and Cambridge Street Upper School Complex.

Located in the Wellington-Harrington neighborhood of Cambridge just outside of Inman Square, the Valente Branch Library will offer over 10,000 square feet of space and will be easily accessible via the 69 bus. As with the rest of the complex, the branch is constructed to be a Net-Zero building, aiming to produce as much renewable energy as it consumes. The branch will be open to the community six days per week, Monday through Saturday. Patrons will be able to check out books and more from a new opening day collection and to enjoy free events for all ages. Amenities will include:

Meeting and Conference Rooms

  • Meeting room bookable by Cambridge-based non-profit organizations when not in use for library programs
  • Two conference rooms available on first-come, first-served basis for groups of 2-4.

Computers and Equipment

  • Public computers available for internet access, research, and more
  • Free public wireless internet access (Wi-Fi)
  • Free scanner
  • Copier and printers (10 free pages per day; 15 cents each page after), including wireless printing from your own device

Other Amenities

  • Quiet room for people to read or work away from the activity of the main reading area
  • Gender-neutral restrooms
