The Library would like to thank its staff and patrons for making our pilot program, Summer Sundays at Valente, a huge success. During Sundays in the summer, the library welcomed patrons from all over the city and beyond, saw over 350 visitors for its Valente Summer Sundays Kick-off Party, and made for a cool spot during these past sweltering Sundays. Please share your thoughts on the pilot program by filling out our survey (link here) for Valente Summer Sundays. Sunday hours resume at the Main Library on September 11.

Part of the King Open and Cambridge Street Upper Schools and Community Complex, the new Valente Branch Library offers over 10,000 square feet of space and is easily accessible via the 69 bus. Designed by William Rawn Associates, the branch is constructed to be a Net-Zero building, aiming to produce as much renewable energy as it consumes. Visitors may check out books and more, including bocce equipment for the outdoor court, and enjoy free events for all ages.
