The City Clerk is the official record keeper for the City of Cambridge.

The City Clerk’s Office oversees two permanent record collections: Vital Statistics, (including birth, marriage, and death records beginning in the early 1800s, along with domestic partnerships, business, and professional certificates), and Legislative Records dating as far back as 1630 when Cambridge was first established as a town.  To access the newly published City of Cambridge Legislative Records Collection.

New Open Meeting Portal Deployment

As part of our ongoing effort to improve transparency, accessibility, and public engagement, the City has transitioned to a new Agenda and Meeting Management system, OneMeeting.

Starting on January 26, 2026, City Council, BZA and Planning Board meeting agendas, minutes, and video streaming will be available through this new portal. Other Boards and Commissions will follow at a date to be communicated later.
