Description

Please join the City of Cambridge at 5 PM on Monday, June 1 for a virtual vigil as we mourn the killing of George Floyd.

We will gather as a community via Facebook Live to acknowledge the pain and remember the many lives lost to racism, intolerance, police brutality and other forms of violence. We will have brief remarks from Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui, Councillor Denise Simmons, City Manager Louis DePasquale, Cambridge Police Superintendent Christine Elow, and Peace Commission Director Brian Corr; and an invocation from Pastor Lorraine Thornhill and a benediction from Bishop Brian Greene.

We will end our vigil with a moment of silence to honor those lost and to renew our commitment to social justice, tolerance, and equality.
