The City of Cambridge proudly honored recipients of the 2025 City of Cambridge Scholarship during a special ceremony at Cambridge City Hall this week inside the Sullivan Chamber.
This year marked the 33rd anniversary of the City Scholarship Awards Program. Cambridge awarded 86 scholarships of $3,000 each to Cambridge high school seniors and others pursuing post-secondary education. The $258,000 awarded was a record in the program’s history. Eighty-four seniors from Cambridge Rindge & Latin School, two students from the Community Charter School of Cambridge, and one from the International School of Boston received scholarships.
Speakers included Mayor E. Denise Simmons, Assistant City Manager for Fiscal Affairs Claire Spinner, Interim Superintendent of Schools David Murphy, and Interim Principal of Cambridge Rindge & Latin School Allan Gehant.
Since the program’s inception in 1993, the City has awarded over 1,500 scholarships -- totaling nearly $3.9 million. The City of Cambridge Scholarship is funded entirely through the generosity of Cambridge residents and local businesses.
“More than 700 donors contributed to the 2025 City of Cambridge Scholarship, reflecting the spirit of a community that truly believes in the power of education,” said Cambridge City Manager Yi-An Huang. “We wish nothing but the best for these deserving scholarship recipients and their bright futures.”
