DePasquale Playground Fully Reopened After July Repairs

Universal Design Playground

Update (7/31/25): The replacement of the DePasquale Universal Design Playground's rubber safety surface is complete. All play areas are available for visitors to enjoy.

Beginning Monday, July 28, parts of the DePasquale Universal Design Playground located at Danehy Park will be closed for repairs to replace the play area’s rubber safety surface. The Senior Play area and tower, Junior Play area, swing zone, and spin zones will be impacted and fenced off until repairs are complete.

  • The splash pad area, Sensory Hilltop, and Sensory walking path will remain open while repairs take place.
  • During the partial closures, the Cambridge Summer Food Program will serve breakfast and lunch meals at Danehy Park's Sherman St. entrance.

Repairs and play area closures are expected to continue for several days. This webpage will be updated when the process is complete.
