Are you a Cambridge resident interested in learning about job training opportunities to jumpstart your career? The Cambridge Community Learning Center (CLC) is excited to announce Career Connections, a new program that helps Cambridge residents start a career or make a career change.

The Career Connections program begins in January 2026 and continues through May 2026. Classes meet weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Community Learning Center in Central Square at 5 Western Ave.

The program includes:

  • Support exploring options for careers, including presentations from job training providers
  • Classes to build communication and computer skills for the workplace
  • Help applying to local career training programs
  • One-on-one career advising with ongoing support

“I was really struck by how comprehensive the program structure was, and how powerfully the program advisor and the teachers guided us through such a life-changing process," said Leslie, who participated in CLC's pilot version of the program last year. “Picturing a new, successful career path in just six months no longer seemed scary — suddenly, anything felt possible.” Through Career Connections, Leslie learned about local job training programs and is now enrolled in Just-A-Start's Information Technology Training Program.

Sign up for a Career Connections information session to learn more about the program and how to apply. Career Connections will accept applications to its 2026 program through Friday, December 19.
