Fire on Willow Street contained and extinguished

On Tuesday morning, March 29, Box 211 was ordered by Engine 5 for the fire in the stairs of a 4-story brick and wood apartment building on Willow St.
The fire was quickly contained and extinguished with no extension to the structure.
Ladder 1 is shown with the aerial to the roof on the "charlie side," i.e. the the rear of the building.
Four engines (incl Somerville Engine 3 on the line box), 2 ladders, 2 squads, Rescue 1, & Division Chief 1 were assigned.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported and no residents were displaced.

Group 2 was on duty.

 

Cambridge Police Department officers were on scene for traffic & pedestrian safety in the area.

 

City Inspectional Services also responded.
