Location: Public parks, empty parking lots, bike paths for up to 2 years.

Short Description: Expand the City's bike safety education offerings by providing learn-to-bike and beginner urban cycling workshops for adults. More educational opportunities will empower more people to feel safe and comfortable using bikes to get around the city.

Long Description: 

Let’s enable the City to organize more fun bike education opportunities! As bike infrastructure has improved and expanded throughout Cambridge, let’s ensure that the benefits of cycling are available to all residents. This project will expand Cambridge’s outreach to adults riding bikes around our neighborhoods. Project funding would cover the purchase of 10 bikes for events, storage for bikes, and the cost of running events (i.e. staff time, vendor expenses).

Types of events would include:

• Adult learn-to-bike training

• Beginner bike workshops, with a focus on practicing safe cycling in urban environments

• Free access to helmets, bells, and lights

A community biking event in Cambridge.
