Short Description: Let’s make exercise and fitness more accessible by installing outdoor exercise equipment in a park! Equipment made for exercise allows for greater range of physical activity and decreases wear and tear on other park furniture.
Long Description: Cambridge residents expressed that there is a lack of outdoor exercise equipment in parks on the eastern side of Cambridge. Outdoor exercise equipment is a free and accessible alternative to expensive gym memberships. This gives more community members the chance to improve their personal fitness.
Outdoor exercise equipment means less wear and tear on existing park furniture like benches and chairs. Specialized equipment will also let residents partake in a wider variety of exercises.
The outdoor exercise equipment will aim to be installed in a park on the eastern side of Cambridge. Location is based on the City’s assessment of need and space availability.
