Join us for a special book group in honor of Recovery Month. Recovery Month, observed each September, affirms that recovery from substance use and mental health challenges is possible, and shows the city's support for every Cambridge community member in all stages of their recovery journeys. We will be reading Men We Reaped by Jasmyn Ward. Registration is helpful but not required. This event was created in partnership with the Cambridge Public Health Department.

Join this free 1-hour interactive workshop for parents and caregivers ready to spark powerful conversations about race, identity, and belonging. You will gain historical insights, tools to affirm your child’s cultural roots, and connect with others committed to raising antiracist children. The workshop will feature a presentation by Vice Mayor Marc McGovern and a special giveaway: The Village We’re Building digital zine! Presented by Castle of our Skins, "A Little History" is a 60 minute interactive recital that tells the simplified stories of nine legendary figures in Black History through original music, poetry, and engagement. Recommended for school-age children and their caregivers.

The Cambridge Police Department today announced the launch of a new publicly-accessible arrest, summons, citation, and use of force Procedural Justice Dashboard. This comprehensive dashboard is designed to better serve the community by increasing the department’s transparency and providing the public with deeper insights into Cambridge Police officer interactions with the public.

Install four accessible drinking fountains for residents and visitors in high foot traffic neighborhoods and parks.

Reading Interests: We concentrate on Great Books in the following areas: a long novel over the summer, two sections of poetry and short stories, a book of the Bible, a Shakespeare play, an ancient and modern drama, a work of science, a smaller work of fiction, an even smaller work of fiction, and a rotating mix of politics, philosophy, and religion. Authors read in the past five years include Dickens, Keats and Yeats, O'Connor and Munro, Ecclesiastes, Sophocles and August Wilson, Darwin, Austen, Duras, The Federalist Papers, and Arendt. How to get the print book: Copies of the reading are set aside at the Main Library. Visit the Main Library at 449 Broadway during current service hours and a staff member can help you get a copy.
