The City of Cambridge is notifying residents, businesses, and visitors of street closures and traffic impacts from October 18 to October 19 due to the Head of the Charles Regatta, the Attic Vintage Block Party, and the Community Art Center Block Party.

In observance of the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays, City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday, December 24-25, and Thursday, January 1. We also want residents to be aware that the Cambridge Police Department expects reports of package thefts to increase this time of year, particularly with more residents doing their shopping online.

People of all ages who enjoy children's books can read and discuss together. Food will be provided. In February we will read and discuss Atana and the Firebird by Vivan Zhou. Copies of the book will be available at the Boudreau Branch, Collins Branch and the O'Neill Branch after it re-opens. This book group will meet in person at the O'Neill Branch Library. The Cambridge Fire Department requires a Bi-Directional Radio Amplifier for public safety radio frequencies in all high-rise and below grade structures.

Members of the Kids' Zine Collective and Cambridge Young Authors' Squad are invited to a party to celebrate their work from this year! Kids can bring zines to swap and/or writing to share. Food provided! No registration is necessary.

We invite children and their caregivers to a 30-minute session of songs and stories in Mandarin Chinese with Mina (Yating) Fan, a local mother and educator. This fun and interactive session brings families together to enjoy lively songs and engaging stories in a warm, welcoming environment. This program can accommodate 45 people. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. This program starts promptly. The group seeks to examine ways to reform community safety in Cambridge by mitigating police response to select calls for service, while enhancing community cohesion to include restorative processes.
