Since Friday, October 2, three residents of a Cambridge long-term care facility have tested positive for COVID-19. All staff and residents have since been tested, and the Cambridge Public Health Department (CPHD) will announce any positive results once they are posted in MAVEN, the state’s reportable disease database.

CPD's Secret Santa for Seniors Gift Drive is Back for Its 19th Year. This program relies solely on generous donations from Cambridge businesses, residents, community members, and CPD employees. Gift bags are organized and distributed to seniors throughout the city on the days leading up to Christmas to remind them that they are not forgotten. The program is a great way to support Local Businesses and Seniors This Holiday Season. Gifts can be dropped off 24/7 at drop boxes in the first-floor main lobby of the Robert W. The Cambridge Hip-Hop Collective will bring together the Hip-Hop, RnB and Electronic Dance Music communities in this collaborative event at the Urban Park (UP) roof garden in Kendall. In addition to live sets from some frequent Cambridge venue performers like Sun.Sets.Boston, The Modular Troupe will be bringing a live 5-piece band playing smooth RnB and Hip-Hop classics with featured performances from local singers and rappers.

This report examines the feasibility of the City of Cambridge implementing a municipal fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) service and finds that for the City to construct an FTTP network and establish a financially sustainable business—meaning one that covers its costs and generates a reasonable rate of return over a long period—a significant public contribution would be required. In a base-case scenario that applies conservative construction cost assumptions and reasonable revenue projections, the network could require an upfront public capital contribution of $150 million.

LilyPad in Inman Square will be hosting two events on June 13 and 14. Friday, June 13, will feature a live music at the Cambridge Street Court/Yard from 7:00 – 9:30 p.m. followed by a brass band procession back to LilyPad’s performance space in Inman. On Saturday, June 14, LilyPad will bring DJ dance party vibes back to the Cambridge Street Court/Yard from 7:00 – 9:30 p.m.
