The public is invited to come hear from each of the finalists in the Cambridge City Manager search process. The finalists will present their vision for the City, answer questions, and meet members of the public. This event will be televised on 22-CityView.

Are you interested in viewing planets and identifying constellations? Ever wanted to take apart a telescope to see how it works? Join the Cambridge STEAM Initiative and other partners at the annual Community Astronomy Night event to explore the night sky, guided by high school interns from the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian Science Research Mentoring Program. Register by end of day on Thursday, March 5.

Start the year off right by getting to know Cambridge birds! All ages are welcome to join us as we observe birds at Fresh Pond, which provides habitat for many different species at all times of the year. This event will focus on birds that can be found in the winter in Cambridge, including several species of ducks, sparrows and more. We may also see some of our year-round resident birds, and we will discuss general birdwatching tips and learn more about the birds we share our outdoor spaces with. A limited supply of binoculars will be available. Please dress accordingly as we will be outside for the entire walk. Registration is required for this event. Join us for a lively discussion of a great book in person at the Main Library! Snacks will be provided. For ages 7-9 and a parent or caregiver. This month's book is Strangeville School is Totally Normal by Darcy Miller. Harvey Hill just wants other kids to think he’s normal. So he’s happy to start fresh as the newest kid at Strangeville Middle School. Except Strangeville is anything but normal. Something sinister swims in the drinking fountain, the cafeteria could swallow you whole, and a giant rat named Cuddles is on the loose. And don't even get the vice principal started on the third-floor supply closet. In fact, don't even think about it. What supply closet? Copies of this month's book are available at the Children's Desk. Both caregiver and child should read the book before the discussion to participate. The City of Cambridge and Cambridge Public Schools (CPS) are proud to announce the opening of the new Tobin Montessori and Darby Vassall Upper Schools and Community Complex. Officially opening on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, the state-of-the-art building replaces the former school facility located between Vassal Lane, Concord Avenue, and Alpine Street in West Cambridge.

We live in an age where we carry our smartphones everywhere we go. Built into this device is a camera that can help us document the world around us. Whether it’s taking family portraits, beautiful landscapes, or in some cases the meal we just sat down to eat, we’re all constantly taking photos. This class will not only teach you to take the best possible photos, but how to edit your photos to make them look as good as they possibly can. We will also cover how to organize the photos on your phone. We will learn how to become visual storytellers through projects I'll assign each week followed by thoughtful group discussions of your photos. You need only bring two things to this class: your smartphone and your imagination. This program will be held in the Rindge Room.

The Office of Workforce Development (OWD)’s Youth Employment team collaborates with other City initiatives, local employers and non-profits in Cambridge to offer enriching paid internships related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) to Cambridge teens during the school year and summer
