This presentation features exciting and nostalgic videos of the greatest and most fascinating players, teams, events and moments in franchise history. It covers Sox history from the Royal Rooters, who launched Red Sox Nation, to Babe Ruth to Ted Williams to The Impossible Dream Season of 1967 to Lynn, Rice and '75 to the heartbreak of 1986 all the way to the four World Series championships and beyond. Join us for an informative discussion with representatives Viet Van, Community Support Services Manager, and Nina Cohen, Director of Adult Family Care, of Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES). Since 1972, SCES has been the area's aging information and service center, helping older people and people living with disabilities remain safe and independent in their own homes. Registration is requested, but not required. SCES services are available to older residents of Cambridge and Somerville, as well as their caregivers. Some services are open to adults with disabilities who are age 16 and older, and to residents of the Greater Boston area.

To mark the 250th anniversaries of the American Revolution and the founding of the United States, a coalition of local non-profits and government agencies will present Washington in American Memory, a seven-part speaker series. Consider how Americans understand the material culture of Washington and the Revolution, including art and clothing, featuring: Zara Anishanslin, author of The Painter’s Fire: A Forgotten History of the Artists Who Championed the American Revolution and Associate Professor of History and Art History at the University of Delaware Erica E. Hirshler, Croll Senior Curator of American Paintings at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

In observance of the Patriots’ Day holiday on Monday, April 20, City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed, and payments will not be required at City of Cambridge parking meters and pay stations. Curbside collection of trash, recycling, food waste, and yard waste will be suspended on the holiday and one day behind for the remainder of the week. There will be no street cleaning on the Patriots’ Day holiday. Streets that would normally be cleaned on April 20 (third Monday of the month) will instead be cleaned on Wednesday, April 29.
