Cambridge residents age 60 and older are invited to weekly Music Jam Sessions this spring! Whether you play an intrument or simply enjoy music, stop by a Jam Session on Monday evenings!

September through May, the Cambridge Council on Aging offers programming for Cambridge adults ages 60 and older at the Russell Youth and Community Center, 680 Huron Ave. 2nd Fl. on Thursdays and Fridays.

Overall, in FY24, the City is dedicating more than $60 million from a variety of sources to address affordable housing and homelessness. The fiscal year 2023 resulted in a number of key accomplishments.

Learning Spanish can be a rewarding and joyous journey! This class is offered to adults ages 60+ and will focus on building connections, nurturing curiosity, and celebrating the lifelong adventure of learning together.

In observance of the Veterans’ Day holiday on Friday, November 11, City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed and payments will not be required at City of Cambridge parking meters and parking meter pay stations. Additionally, the offices at Cambridge Cemetery, 76 Coolidge Avenue, will be closed on the holiday, though the gates will be open from 7 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Curbside collection of trash, recycling, compost, and yard waste will be suspended on the holiday and one day behind schedule. Regularly scheduled street cleaning routes for Friday, November 11 will be cleaned on Monday, October 31.

Join us for a guided 60-minute art tour featuring public artwork in East Cambridge and learn about how Cambridge Arts commissions and maintains art for public enjoyment. We will visit three public artworks, and two sidewalk poems. Meet at Centanni Park between the Multicultural Arts Center and the Middlesex South Registry of Deeds. This event is part of our Time Out for Public Art series in collaboration with Cambridge Arts. In October, these will be 60-minute art tours where we visit multiple sites as a group. Registration is required.

Join us for a guided 60-minute tour of the Universal Design Playground, an inclusive play area featuring public artworks designed with accessibility and sensory engagement in mind: Paintings by Dominic Killiany, Sensory Hilltop by Mitch Ryerson, and Pipe Dreams by NuVu Studio. We will meet at the Universal Design Playground, 66 Field St. entrance. This event is part of our Time Out for Public Art series in collaboration with Cambridge Arts. The Cambridge Council on Aging partners with Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES) to offer hot, nutritious lunch meals to Cambridge residents ages 60 and older. Changes in funding allocation will impact the lunch meal program beginning April 1.
