We will honor and remember Dr. King and his legacy, hear remarks from City leaders, hear from members of the Cambridge community as they share readings of Dr. King’s words calling for peace, justice and transformation, and hear musical performances. Immediately following the City's commemoration, Many Helping Hands 365 will host its MLK Day of Service.

In observance of the Labor Day Holiday on Monday, September 4, City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed, and payments will not be required at City of Cambridge parking meters and parking meter pay stations. Curbside collection of trash, recycling, compost, and yard waste will be suspended on the holiday and one day behind schedule for the rest of that week.

Payments will not be required at Cambridge parking meters and pay stations on January 1, 2024. Curbside collection of trash, recycling, and compost will be suspended on January 1 and will be one day behind its regular schedule that week. Please note that yard waste pick-up and street cleaning ends on December 29 and will resume in April 2024.

Robert Lowe, Superintendent of Operations at the Cambridge Police Department, was recognized this week by the Harvard Square Business Association at their annual meeting with the “Public Service Award” for his dedicated service to the community.
