Participants will explore how to build and develop a D&D character, gaining the skills to recreate or expand their own characters in the future. This event is recommended for children ages 8 and up. Funding for Summer Reading has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library Foundation, Friends of the Cambridge Public Library and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

Funding will support new construction and any related maintenance for two new electric vehicle chargers in Cambridge. Each charging location would charge two cars at once.

We will adapt the tale "The Tortoise and the Hare" and perform our masterpiece for family and friends. Using a ChompSaw (a kid-safe power tool), participants will safely cut cardboard to create shadow puppets. This four-week puppetry workshop is for youth ages 7-10. We will meet on March 5, 12, 19 and 26. Registration is required. Participants much attend all sessions and have read a version of the tale before the first session. The City of Cambridge is notifying residents, businesses, and visitors of street closures and traffic impacts Sunday, October 5 for the Fall Classic 5K Road Race.

CPD participated in the City of Cambridge’s candlelight vigil on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. outside City Hall. The annual vigil honors the Massachusetts women, men, and children who have tragically lost their lives to domestic violence since last October. Local domestic violence prevention agencies will have resources for survivors and information for the community on how to recognize and talk about domestic violence.

The Cambridge Public Health Department is holding weekly COVID-19 vaccine clinics for the Cambridge community at 119 Windsor St., by appointment only, through August 10, 2022.
