Join us in this twelve-week Tai Chi Paradigm practice, which focuses on the mind and body connection. Tai Chi is a fluid sequence of movements choreographed in a low impact routine. Sifu Mynor Diaz has been learning and teaching Tai Chi classes for over 20 years. This is an in-person event at the Main Library. Due to the popularity of Sifu Diaz's classes, we expect participants to attend all sessions and participation in this program will be decided by lottery. To enter the lottery, please register for the waitlist below. This waitlist will constitute the pool from which 15 names will be drawn randomly. Registration will open Wednesday, February 5 at 9AM and close Wednesday, February 19 at 5PM. Participants selected will be notified on Saturday, February 22. Install 10 shaded benches with solar power charging stations around Cambridge. This project will improve the daily quality of life for pedestrians. These solar benches will allow people to sit out of the sun and charge their electronic devices.

Cambridge hosts many outdoor events each year. Accessible mats can lay over unpaved terrain to ensure that more people can enjoy the beautiful green space of these events. These mats support families with strollers, wheelchairs, and other mobility aids.

E-cargo bikes help City staff maintain our urban canopy. During droughts and heat waves, E-cargo bikes transport equipment across Cambridge to water trees. Purchasing three new E-cargo bikes would expand the City’s ‘water-by-bike’ program.

Join the Cambridge Public Library in welcoming Rachel Slade, author of Making It in America: The Almost Impossible Quest to Manufacture in the U.S.A. (And How It Got That Way)—as well as the national bestseller, Into the Raging Sea—for the latest installment of the Our Path Forward Lecture Series. Slade's book, which follows a young couple in Maine trying to kickstart a lost industry, was named a Publishers Weekly "Top 10 Pick in Business and Economics." Cosmopolitan called Making It in America an "enlightening look at the history of manufacturing in America and how we got to where we are today." After the lecture, Slade will sit in conversation with Janelle Nanos, a business enterprise reporter at The Boston Globe and a finalist for a 2023 Pulitzer Prize, after which she will answer questions from the audience. Registration is required.

This will be a virtual public meeting to share information about the project; review the sites that we are planning for; and receive community input and ideas on future uses for these properties. We will cover similar content to our prior in-person meeting, but in an online friendly format. Central Square City Lots Study: The City of Cambridge Community Development Department (CDD), in collaboration with other city departments and the Cambridge community, is leading a municipal property needs assessment and planning study for city-owned properties in Central Square.
