Water Board Members
The Cambridge Water Board is a five member board of Cambridge residents appointed by the City Manager, that act in an advisory role to the Managing Director of the Water Department. The Managing Director has full power to make all necessary repairs, extensions or improvements on the works, and to provide new supply pipes. All hydrants, standpipes and drinking fountains, established by the City, shall be constructed, and all repairs upon such hydrants, standpipes and drinking fountains made, and the streets repaired under authority of the Managing Director.

Community Safety Department Makes Immediate Impact In Community Following Launch of 9-1-1 Response
The Community Safety Department’s CARE Team launched in 2024, providing an unarmed, compassionate response to mental health crises, well-being checks, and other non-criminal emergencies. By the end of the year, they responded to nearly 200 emergency calls, assisted over 150 community members, and removed 1,600 needles from public spaces, with 94% of calls requiring no police involvement. In collaboration with local organizations and the Cambridge Police Department, the CARE Team also offers case management and referrals, helping residents access shelter, addiction treatment, housing support, and other essential services.

Cambridge Police Detectives sought the public's assistance to locate and confirm the well-being of a missing juvenile. That individual has been located safely and reunited with family.
Apply for the Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program (MSYEP)
The program serves primarily 14 and 15 year olds, though 16 to 18 year olds are encouraged to apply, and many older applicants will be assigned to worksites.
