The Cambridge Public Library and Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School are excited to offer Estate Planning for All. Estate plans can help you prepare for unexpected changes, offer a sense of security in uncertain times, and ensure that your wishes will be carried out if you become ill, incapacitated, or die unexpectedly. Everyone—regardless of background or financial situation—can have an estate plan. We will discuss: Financial issues during our lifetimes: power of attorney, homestead declaration, and trusts Health and medical issues: health care proxy, medical directives, and HIPAA authorization Preparing for death: wills and declaration as to remains Estate planning issues specific to veterans and individuals with disabilities will also be discussed. This Month's Read: The City in Glass, by Nghi Vo Reading Interests: The group concentrates on science fiction and fantasy. An advanced reading schedule is published each summer. Example selections include: Neuromancer by William Gibson and The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. Requirements: A love of speculative fiction and a desire to talk about books. The group is friendly and informal. How to get the print book: Copies of the print book are set aside at the Main Library Question and Answer desk on the ground floor. Visit the Main Library at 449 Broadway during service hours and a staff member can help you check out a copy. E-books and digital audiobooks are available on Libby or Hoopla. Today, City of Cambridge Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui, City Manager Louis A. DePasquale, and Commissioner of Public Health Dr. Assaad J. Sayah announced an Emergency Order “Establishing a Moratorium on Eviction Enforcement and Non-Essential Entry by Property Owners and Their Agents Into Occupied Dwelling Units in the City of Cambridge” for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s officially spring and city staff are working diligently to prepare City fields for the spring sports season! While synthetic turf is already being used, the winter thaw and snow melt have made grass fields soggy and vulnerable to damage if they are used before adequate preparation. We expect all fields to open for athletic use by early April.
