Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) will offer COVID-19 testing to all Cambridge residents via a stand-alone testing center at the CHA East Cambridge Care Center (163 Gore St., Cambridge). The service will launch on Friday, May 8. Cambridge residents eight years of age and older are welcome, regardless of insurance or immigration status. Individuals MUST CALL to set up an appointment using a new hotline number at 617-665-2928.

Emergency Communications initially received reports of gun shots in the area of Central Square around 1:31 a.m. Three shell casings were located by the Cambridge Police near 731 Massachusetts Avenue following a preliminary investigation. There is one known victim at this time.

Week 1: Foundation and Idea Validation. Learn the basics of entrepreneurship, including mindset and risk. Develop and test your business idea by solving real problems. Understand key customer service principles to improve experience. Get a quick intro to marketing and e-commerce fundamentals.

A series of classes with instruction from Comedian Jack Grey. Learn how to seamlessly integrate interactive improv games, scenes, and skillful storytelling that all come together with performance. The 10-week course will occur every Thursday, 1:30pm-3:30pm, starting February 27 through May 1. The final class will now take place on May 15. No class on May 1 or May 8. This will be an in-person program at the Main Library. Space is limited to 15 participants. Dispose of your medications safely at Medication Takeback Day at the Cambridge Senior Center! The Cambridge Public Health Department, Cambridge Police Department, and Cambridge Council on Aging are hosting a Medication Takeback Event on Monday, October 20 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), formerly called the Fuel Assistance Program, helps income-eligible residents who live in Cambridge or Somerville pay winter heating bills between November 1 and April 30. Renters and homeowners are eligible to apply if they meet federal income guidelines.
