Join us for a morning walk at one of the most renowned birdwatching spots in Cambridge, Mount Auburn Cemetery! We will help you identify birds, learn birdwatching tips and tricks, and familiarize yourself with migratory birds as well as those that can be spotted all year round. A limited supply of binoculars will be available. The walk will meet at the Bird Sighting Board near the front entrance of Mt. Auburn Cemetery at 10:15 am. Registration is required. This event can only accommodate a certain number of participants. One registration is good for one person. If you do not register, you cannot participate. The new Metro North COVID-19 Vaccination Partnership -- a consortium of nine cities, Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), and Tufts University -- announced today that it will open three joint vaccination sites to expand COVID-19 vaccine access in the metro north area. The regional partnership was recently approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health as a part of its statewide network of vaccination locations.

There will be a COVID-19 vaccine clinic this Saturday, May 15th, from 9:30am - 12:00pm at the Cambridge Community Center located at 5 Callender St. in Cambridge. This clinic is a collaboration among the Cambridge Public Health Department (CPHD) & Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), My Brother’s Keeper (MBK), City Manager’s Office, Mayor Siddiqui’s Office, Cambridge Community Center, and Tufts Medical School.

The Baker-Polito Administration released Reopening Massachusetts, the Reopening Advisory Board’s report, which details a four-phased strategy to responsibly reopen businesses and activities while continuing to fight COVID-19. The Administration also released a new “Safer At Home” Advisory, which instructs residents to stay at home unless engaging with newly opened activities, as a way to continue limiting the spread of COVID-19.

The City of Cambridge announced that, beginning Monday, January 3, 2022, it will expand its free COVID-19 testing program to seven days a week during the month of January through its partnership with CIC Health. People who live or work in Cambridge can now book an appointment and be tested for free at CIC Health’s 295 Third Street location in Cambridge any day of the week.

The City of Cambridge Department of Veterans Services will hold a Patriots' Day Observance event on Monday, April 21, at 10:30 a.m., on the Cambridge Common. The event will also include a ceremonial reenactment by the National Lancers, of William Dawes’ historic horseback ride from Boston to Cambridge, then to Lexington, alerting the colonists of the British threat of 1775, and marking its 250th anniversary.

CDC Director Rochelle P. Walensky, M.D., M.P.H., endorsed the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ (ACIP) recommendation that children 5 to 11 years old be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric vaccine. CDC now expands vaccine recommendations to about 28 million children in the United States in this age group and allows providers to begin vaccinating them as soon as possible.

The City of Cambridge invites community members to join Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui and City Manager Louis A. DePasquale for the dedication of the City’s COVID-19 Remembrance Memorial. This dedication has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. A brief ceremony will be held at the Memorial site inside the main gate of the Cambridge Cemetery, at 76 Coolidge Avenue.

A temporary business use sidewalk obstruction permit is required if you are a plan to temporally obstruct a City of Cambridge sidewalk. Please apply for an Annual Sidewalk Obstruction Permit if you plan to use an “A” framed sign, sandwich board, display merchandise, temporary banner or use tables and chairs on a sidewalk in the public way.
