This month's book is Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume. Two is a crowd when Peter and his little brother, Fudge, are in the same room. Grown-ups think Fudge is absolutely adorable, but Peter and his pet turtle, Dribble, know the truth. From throwing temper tantrums to smearing mashed potatoes on the wall, Fudge causes mischief wherever he goes! Both caregiver and child should read the book before the discussion to participate. When Lily and her family move in with her sick grandmother, a magical tiger straight out of her grandmother’s Korean folk tales arrives, sending Lily on a quest to solve a mystery from generations ago. But deals with tigers are never what they seem! Content: this novel deals with the loss of direct family members, both off-page and during the course of the story. Tales from Toledo, Storyteller Tony Toledo that is. Once upon a time...THE END. You won’t believe what happens in the middle! From "What's in that House?" to "Give me back my Diamond Button!" the middle will be full of fun. Join us for a lively storytelling program for children and their caregivers. Tony Toledo has been telling stories to pay his rent since the end of the 20th Century. Tony has visited many libraries, told many stories, and passed out many riddle bookmarks. Tony grew up in Ohio, served in the Army, bicycled from Oregon to Virginia, sampled Law School, hosts his annual Corn Party In Beverly and loves peach pie more than chocolate cake. Funding for Summer Reading has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library Foundation and Friends of the Cambridge Public Library.

Reading Interests: This group will explore the burgeoning genre of contemporary romance. Example selections include: Honey and Spice by Bolu Babalola and Mistakes Were Made by Meryl Wilsner. More than 80 red, black, and green basketball nets were installed on 15 basketball courts across Cambridge. The nets reflect three of the colors associated with Juneteenth.

The City of Cambridge issued an emergency order requiring that face masks or coverings be worn in indoor public places. The order takes effect at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, September 3, 2021. It applies to everyone over the age of two years old, with exceptions in alignment with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health guidelines.

The Detail/Off-Duty Employment Office is responsible for assigning off-duty officers to construction sites throughout the City to ensure motor vehicle and pedestrian safety.

CANCELLED - Public Hearing of the Half Crown-Marsh Neighborhood Conservation District Commission in order to review applications to alter designated properties and other matters under the provisions of Chapter 2.78 of the Code of the City of Cambridge and the order establishing the district. The Commission has a monthly meeting calendar, though meetings may be cancelled if no applications are received.
