JAS is holding a community meeting on June 30, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lesley University Hall Room 3-094 (1815 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge) to provide updates to the community on their plan to develop affordable housing at 1826 & 1840 Massachusetts Avenue in Porter Square. 16-28 Porter Street is a 12,920 square foot vacant lot located in the Wellington-Harrington neighborhood, a location surrounded by many amenities such as Twin city Plaza, Gold Star Mothers Park, and the Lechmere MBTA station. It was acquired by the Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA) in April 2026 with financial support from the Cambridge Affordable Housing Trust (CAHT). The site is expected to be developed under the provisions of the Affordable Housing Overlay.

Matching Set is a twin-led indie-folk band performing original songs with lush vocal harmonies and poetic lyrics.Their set features intimate compositions blending European and American influences. PARK SOUNDS 2026 brings free outdoor musical performances featuring local artists to the front lawn of the Cambridge Public Library Main Branch. These events are all-ages. Bring a chair, food, and loved ones to celebrate the summer! Funding is provided by the CPL Foundation in memory of Janet Axelrod.

This golf season, Fresh Pond Golf Course was proud to host more than 54,053 rounds of golf! Join Cambridge Camping and the Cambridge Community Center for our first 2026 Village Building Series event: a live theater performance of Inventing Samanta (Our Ray of Hope) at the Cambridge Public Library. The play is performed by actors ages 19-26, following a group of high school students and exploring why - despite age, identity, or background - anyone can be an inventor. Presented by Central Square Theater's Youth Underground, with funding from Cambridge STEAM. This event is cosponsored by the Cambridge Public Library.
