Join the Shadow, Sound, Spectacle ensemble for an evening of original live music, shadow puppetry, video projection, and gothic storytelling inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe, Mary Shelley, Washington Irving, Emily Dickinson, Bram Stoker, Anne Rice and more. This imaginative multimedia performance reimagines iconic gothic figures—Frankenstein’s creature, Poe’s raven, the Headless Horseman—as symbols of resistance, transformation, and queer identity. Recommended for teens and adults. Shadow, Sound, Spectacle: Literary Monsters is a collaborative performance project led by Northampton-based singer-songwriter Jess Martin (Tiny Desk Contest 2025 entrant), Boston puppeteer Amy West, and musician/visual artist Abby Hanna (Northampton-based).

Polyamory is having a "moment," but for the queer community, intentional relationship-building has always been a tool for liberation. As interest in non-monogamy grows, so does the need for clarification and conversation. Join us for Poly Talk, an intimate discussion dedicated to the complexities of polyamory and consensual non-monogamy (CNM) through the queer lens. This is a space to dismantle hetero-mononormative stigmas and celebrate the diverse ways our community shows up for and with one another. Pull up a chair. Join our affair. Through the Hampshire Street Safety Improvement Project, the City will add separated bike lanes to Hampshire Street between Inman Square and Broadway, creating a more comfortable biking connection between Inman Square and the Port/Kendall Square. We will also make improvements to existing crosswalks and changes to parking and loading.

We are postponing today’s session of our reading group. We will read and discuss the book in sections as follows: Session 1 - Intro, Barbara Smith Session 2 - Beverly Smith, Demita Frazier Session 3 - Alicia Garza, Angela Davis, comments Session 4 – Reflections on Cambridge present and future Participants are encouraged to come to as many sessions as they can — and all are welcome! Copies of the book are available for pickup at the Central Square Branch.
