The Housing Department supports the development and preservation of many types of affordable housing throughout the City of Cambridge.

The CHA is starting the zoning and permitting process for the Modernization of Corcoran Park under the City’s new Affordable Housing Overlay (AHO). This process follows a series of resident meetings, door knocking at Corcoran Park and abutting properties, phone and text outreach to Corcoran Park residents, and August poster sessions open to the neighborhood. Please join the first virtual neighborhood meeting to learn about the project.

The Living Wage Ordinance (2.121) provides, at 2.121.030 (b), that the wage shall be upwardly adjusted each year no later than March 1st in proportion to the increase in the Annual Average Consumer Price Index for the prior calendar year for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) in the Boston area, as published by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics. For calendar year 2025, the CPI-U increased by 3.13%. Therefore, the new Living Wage as of March 1, 2026 is $20.32. This amount should be communicated to vendors subject to the Living Wage Ordinance and will be used to adjust pay for appropriate city employees. The adjustment does not affect any existing contractual agreements unless the terms of those agreements so require. To the owners of the hereinafter described land and to all others concerned, You are hereby notified that on Monday, December 15th, at 8:00 P.M. at the Treasurer/Collector’s Office, 795 Massachusetts Ave, pursuant to the provisions of General Laws, Chapter 60, Section 53, and by virtue of the authority vested in me the Collector of Taxes, it is my intention to take for the City of Cambridge the following parcels of land for non-payment of the taxes due, with interest and all incidental expenses and costs to the date of taking, unless paid before that date.
