The City of Cambridge and the Cambridge Redevelopment Authority (CRA) have announced new initiatives that together will provide approximately $3.6 million in support to Cambridge small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.

Join the Valente Branch for their new book group! This group will meet monthly to discuss a mix of fiction and nonfiction books. The March selection will be Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly. The City of Cambridge is notifying residents, businesses, and visitors of multiple temporary street closures throughout the weekend due to scheduled community events on Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1. Events include the Attic Block Party (affecting Harvard Square) and the Cambridge 5K at CambridgeSide.

No purchase is necessary to view the books; office copies of all the books are available for reference at the Commission library. Explore our outdoor world, get creative, and make sun prints (aka cyanotypes) at the Central Square Branch. A selection of flora, other natural materials, and simple found objects will be available to create a collage and then print with the sun. Or bring your own materials! Participants will have the opportunity to display their work in the Branch during the month of August. In the case of rain or inclement weather, we'll be indoors doing botanical water colors.
