The City of Cambridge today announced that the Cambridge Community Electricity (CCE) Program is entering a new two-year contract period with Direct Energy Services LLC (Direct Energy) resulting in new fixed electricity prices starting in January 2024. While synthetic turf is already being used, the winter thaw and snow melt have made grass fields soggy and vulnerable to damage if they are used before adequate preparation. We expect all fields to open for athletic use by early April.
