The City of Cambridge Community Preservation Act (CPA) Committee will meet virtually on Wednesday, June 9, at 5:30 p.m. to receive project requests for FY22 funding. Each year, the CPA Committee recommends funding for affordable housing, historic preservation, open space, and recreation initiatives throughout the city. Recommendations can be submitted at the June 9 meeting or online from June 9 through July 14, 2021.

The City of Cambridge invites community members to join Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui and City Manager Louis A. DePasquale for the dedication of the City’s COVID-19 Remembrance Memorial. This dedication has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. A brief ceremony will be held at the Memorial site inside the main gate of the Cambridge Cemetery, at 76 Coolidge Avenue.

Please enter the gym through Door 8 on Haskell St. Put on your dancing shoes for an unforgettable workshop of hula hoop magic with Kat Suwalski! You will learn basic hooping moves while increasing hand-eye coordination, strength, balance, and agility. No prior hooping experience is required. Hoops are provided. Recommended for children ages 5 and up and their caregivers. Funding for Summer Reading has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library Foundation and Friends of the Cambridge Public Library.

The City of Cambridge aims to design our streets for people of all ages and abilities, whether they are walking, bicycling, driving, or taking transit.

The city submits a Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report (CAPER) to the HUD on an annual basis, describing in detail expenditure of CDBG funds over the past fiscal year.

The Climate Committee is a volunteer group of community members who work together to provide feedback and ideas to the City on topics related to climate change.

Rodents have become a growing concern in urban environments, and Cambridge is no exception. To combat this, the City offers a free rodent control assistance program for residents of buildings with four or fewer units. This initiative, a partnership between the City and a private pest control company, provides professional inspections, baiting, trapping, and follow-ups within 60 days to help control rodent populations.

The City Manager appoints a standing Climate Committee as an advisory committee to assist in the implementation of the Climate Protection Plan and Net Zero Action Plan.
