The City of Cambridge and Commonwealth of Massachusetts are working to safely reopen the economy, get people back to work, and ease social restrictions while minimizing the health impacts of COVID-19. Information on plans, guidelines, and guidance for different sectors of the economy will be available here and updated often.

As a result of a data reclassification by the Commonwealth, COVID-associated deaths reported for Cambridge residents have been adjusted to reflect 19 additional deaths dating from the onset of the pandemic in March 2020.

Cambridge, in partnership with Watertown, was awarded a community grant from the Barr Foundation to work with the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) to pilot bus priority improvements for routes 71 and 73 along Mt. Auburn Street west of Fresh Pond Parkway. The demonstration project includes the first dedicated bus lanes in Cambridge and new bike lanes, as well as transit signal priority. It uses temporary materials like paint and signs, which will remain in place during the evaluation, and is the first step towards implementing a long-term plan for the Mt. Auburn corridor.

This event has been moved to the Learning Lab at the Main Library, located at 449 Broadway, due to the temporary closing of the Valente Branch. Join us for an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) class! This class will be taught at a beginner level. No testing is needed. Everyone is welcome. The Housing Department is updating the program. Current homeowners can choose to sign an amendment (update) to their Affordable Housing Restriction.

This decision follows the recommendation by the Department of Public Works (DPW) after evaluating the 2023 Pilot Street Cleaning Program, which included a suspension of towing for vehicles that were not moved on street cleaning days.
