The City of Cambridge has proudly been involved in a number of exciting and recent housing-related milestones that have long been in the works.

Our latest issue of Cambridge Life explores what are among our most valuable assets: the City’s parks and open spaces. They are essential to our community well being, environmental resilience, and the overall quality of urban life. From neighborhood tot lots to major destination parks, our valued green spaces provide residents with opportunities for recreation, relaxation, ecological learning, and connection with one another across all ages and backgrounds.

Update the interior of the Central Square Library. The upgrade will include new furniture that is more modern and comfortable, a new technology table that allows for easy laptop hook-up, and scanners, printers, and other technology.

Beginning Spring 2019 and lasting for approximately 12 months, several improvements will be taking place at the Taylor Square Fire Station. Work will be taking place on the interior and exterior of the building. See below for project updates, timeline and additional info.

The City of Cambridge today announced that the Cambridge Community Electricity (CCE) Program is entering a new two-year contract period with Direct Energy Services LLC (Direct Energy) resulting in new fixed electricity prices starting in January 2024. Residential and commercial account holders will also now have three electricity options that vary in price and renewable energy content.

Provide much needed supplies for previously unhoused Cambridge residents to set up their home in their new apartment. Upon leasing, these residents will receive a Home Furnishings Kit which will include bed, bath, and kitchen essentials.
