Kids' Books for Everyone (O'Neill)
People of all ages who enjoy children's books can read and discuss together. Food will be provided. In February we will read and discuss Atana and the Firebird by Vivan Zhou. Copies of the book will be available at the Boudreau Branch, Collins Branch and the O'Neill Branch after it re-opens. This book group will meet in person at the O'Neill Branch Library. Expanding Space for Street Trees
Help our environment by removing pavement to expand space for new and existing trees. Removing pavement provides more soil space for tree roots, helps trees live longer and healthier, improves drainage, and reduces city heat.
Anatomy of a Smartphone (Main)
Learn how set up your smartphone (iPhone or Android), how to adapt your phone to your needs (brightness, font size), common gestures and symbols and how to connect to the internet. This class will be delivered by a DOORS program instructor. Traffic Enforcement Unit
The goal of the Traffic Unit is to serve the community by enforcing the motor vehicle traffic laws of the Commonwealth as well as reducing the number and severity of accidents in the City.
Drop-in Maker Studio (O'Neill)
Come to the Library to create something special! Use your own supplies or try out our equipment! You can use our 1-inch button maker, 2.5 inch button maker, 3-D Doodle pens, or Janome sewing machines. The Library will provide basic supplies. This drop-in program is for people who feel comfortable using these machines on their own. The Library will not provide instruction. Anyone wishing to use the sewing machines must have completed a Sewing 101 training through the Library. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Work to Install Flex Posts and Concrete Curbing on Brattle Street Begins August 10
The City of Cambridge will begin installing flex posts and concrete curbing to separate the two-way bike lane on Brattle Street from general travel lanes. This work is of the Brattle Street Safety Improvement Project.
