Cambridge Highlands Resident Parking Survey Results
TP+T received a petition from a group of Cambridge residents requesting that we add "Parking by Permit Only" signs in the Cambridge Highlands. The City conducted a survey to gauge neighborhood interest in this change, which was completed on April 30th.
Organizational Investment Grants
Nine Cambridge cultural organizations have been awarded $81,000 in Organizational Investment Grants by Cambridge Arts and the City of Cambridge. The funding program provides $9,000 grants to each nonprofit to support operational costs, sustainability, and resiliency for local cultural organizations that benefit Cambridge residents.

Cambridge Records 100th COVID-19 Death
The Cambridge Public Health Department (CPHD) reported on today that the number of known COVID-19 deaths among Cambridge residents has reached 100 and that 1,380 residents have tested positive for the disease since the first cases in the city were reported on March 13, 2020.
Applications Now Being Accepted for Cambridge Preschool Program 2025-2026 School Year
The City of Cambridge and Cambridge Public Schools are delighted to announce that applications for the Cambridge Preschool Program (CPP) for the 2025-2026 school year are now being accepted through Thursday, October 31, 2024. Cambridge Submits Interim Action Plan for MBTA Communities
The City of Cambridge has submitted an Interim Action Plan to the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) as required by a new state law requiring communities served by the MBTA to have zoning districts that allow muti-family housing to be built as-of-right.
Member Sought to Fill Vacancy on Cambridge Water Board. Application Deadline 10-23-23.
The Cambridge Water Board is a five-member board appointed by the City Manager that acts in an advisory role to the Managing Director of the Cambridge Water Department. Members typically assist in developing, modifying, and approving policy related to Water Department owned land and land use.
Kids' Books for Everyone (Collins/Virtual)
In January this book group will meet both in person at the Collins Branch and on Zoom in a hybrid format. Please register in advance. People of all ages who enjoy children's books can read and discuss together. Food will be provided. This month we will be reading and discussing Pocket Bear by Katherine Applegate. Please pick up a copy of the book beforehand at the O'Neill Branch Library (prior to January 5) or at the Boudreau or Collins Branch Libraries. You can also request a copy to be sent to another location, or read a digital version of the book by going to our catalog.
2023-2024 Grant Recipients
Cambridge Arts and the City of Cambridge are distributing grants totaling $260,961 to 53 artists and cultural organizations for fiscal year 2024 through three funding opportunities that Cambridge Arts offered last fall—including Art for Social Justice Grants, Local Cultural Council Grants, and Organizational Investment Grants.
Cambridge Willing to go Extra Mile to Help Get Residents Vaccinated
More than 1,800 residents have already taken advantage of the Cambridge Public Health Department's free flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinics this fall, but there was one recent vaccination that reflects just how far City staff will go to ensure the health of its residents.
