As part of the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s Local Cultural Council Program, Cambridge Arts makes annual awards to support arts and culture in the City.

The Cambridge Auxiliary Police Department has been serving the city of Cambridge since 1941. Originally created as a civil defense measure, the Auxiliary consists of volunteers who assist the Cambridge Police Department with traffic and crowd control at parades, festivals, road races, and other city events. The Auxiliary also conducts vehicle and foot patrols during holidays and other times as needed.

Join us for a demonstration of capoeira, a unique Afro-Brazilian art form combining martial arts, dance, music and acrobatics. To discourage cut-through traffic, the City of Cambridge is testing "No Left Turn" signs in two locations in Neighborhood Nine, north of Harvard Square.

The Commission also celebrates Cambridge residents and local efforts with recognition programs and events, and raises awareness about local and global peace and social justice issues through educational forums, discussions and presentations.
