Norfolk Street
The City of Cambridge, with the Affordable Housing Trust (CAHT) and the Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA), celebrated a recently completed Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) development at 116 Norfolk Street. With funding from the City through the Affordable Housing Trust, as well as other public and private funding, the CHA has completed the construction of 62 new PSH units.
City of Cambridge Announces Increased Investment and Launch of 10th Participatory Budgeting Process
Participatory Budgeting (PB) is a democratic process that empowers community members to help decide how to spend part of a public budget. The City will allocate a record-high $2 million for this year’s process, which doubles the previous budget of $1 million. The PB outreach team will be collecting ideas from the Cambridge community through direct outreach in public spaces and at public events Sept. 11-Oct. 9, 2023.

City of Cambridge Launches 12th Cycle of the Participatory Budgeting Process
The City of Cambridge has announced the launch of the 12th cycle of the Participatory Budgeting (PB) process. Residents will decide how to spend $1 million for winning projects that will be included in next year’s Fiscal Year 2027 Budget. Community members can submit ideas until October 12, 2025.
Voting on Cambridge’s New Participatory Budgeting Projects Runs March 5 – 15
Voting will be on proposals were grouped into four categories: Community Resources; Environment; Facilities, Parks and Recreation; and Transportation, Streets & Sidewalks.
Cambridge and Northeast Region’s Drought Status Elevated to Significant Drought
Under a Level 2 -- Significant Drought, overall water use should be minimized and any outdoor water use should be limited to hand-held hoses or watering cans to be used only after 5 p.m. or before 9 a.m.
