Pathway for Immigrant Workers (PIW) is a Cambridge-based nonprofit serving the Greater Boston area. PIW represents local employers who would not otherwise have the means to sponsor a minimum wage worker for a green card. PIW will assist low wage workers in employment-sponsored lawful permanent residence applications. After an initial assessment, if appropriate PIW will represent the employer in the immigration process.

You’re invited to our May Brewery Book Club, where Lamplighter and the Cambridge Public Library team up to highlight contemporary works from marginalized voices while having a beer. We meet at Lamplighter Brewing Co., 284 Broadway, in the back taproom. This month we’ll read Women's Hotel by Daniel M. Lavery. Copies of the book are available at the Main Library in Cambridge, at 449 Broadway. In 2023, the City of Cambridge designated a new position within the Emergency Communications Department; a 911 Call Center Clinician. This is a new, unique public safety position as it places a mental health professional directly inside the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) alongside dispatchers.

A business use sidewalk obstruction permit is required if you are a business in the City of Cambridge and want to use an “A” framed sign, sandwich board, display merchandise, temporary banner or use tables and chairs on a sidewalk in the public way.

Harvard Book Store and the Cambridge Public Library welcome Zach Adams—Birder, writer, and conservationist—for a discussion of his debut field guide, Birds of New England, which includes stunning photos, maps, and nuanced information on how to locate and identify each unique bird.
