Then join us for a calming and restorative indoor introduction to the practice of Forest Bathing, specially designed for people 55 and over. Come once or join every workshop in this 6-part series to explore the concept of "Shinrin-yoku" (“forest bathing”) which is the practice of being mindful and contemplative within nature, using all your senses. Stefanie Haug, LICSW (she/her) guides people on journeys of self-awareness and relationship with nature as a local psychotherapist, certified Mindful Outdoor Guide (Kripalu), and coach. Her career has spanned the nonprofit and corporate world with a focus on the wellbeing of humans and the more-than-human world.

Harvard Book Store and the Cambridge Public Library welcome Harvey C. Mansfield—William R. Kenan, Jr., Research Professor of Government at Harvard University and recipient of the National Humanities Medal—for a discussion of his new book, The Rise and Fall of Rational Control: The History of Modern Political Philosophy. The Public Information Office (PIO) acts as the main liaison between the City and the media. The PIO team is happy to assist journalists covering the City of Cambridge. Please contact us for background information on particular stories, to arrange interviews with City staff, or for information on services and programs provided by the City.

The Office of Workforce Development offers a variety of programs to help residents ages 18 and older gain job experience and develop professional skillsets. OWD also provides career counseling, and job search supprt. Staff also facilitate job fairs and hiring events several times of year to connect Cambridge residents to the city's vibrant economy.

Join the Cambridge Public Library in celebrating Pride Month by welcoming Kristen Arnett, author of Mostly Dead Things, With Teeth, and—published just this past March—STOP ME IF YOU'VE HEARD THIS ONE. After a reading from her work, Arnett will be joined in conversation by Jill McDonough, author of five books of poetry including American Treasure and Here All Night. Called "a perversely funny novel about family, ambition, and desire" (Shelf Awareness), STOP ME IF YOU'VE HEARD THIS ONE follows a professional clown, Cherry Hendricks, as she tries to stay true to her needs as a person as well as an artist. This is a hybrid event and registration is required. This event is cosponsored by the Cambridge Public Library Foundation.
