Cambridge Increases Grants for Neighborhood Block Parties
Block Party season is here and the City of Cambridge is increasing grants for block parties in 2024 to help more neighborhoods hold celebrations. Any block is eligible to apply for $300 in funding and free access to pop-up play equipment.

2025 Cambridge-Northeastern Police Academy Begins Its 7th Class
The seventh Cambridge-Northeastern Police Academy began this week with 32 student officers, including ten new recruits for Cambridge. The Cambridge-Northeastern Police Academy is a Massachusetts Police Training Council (MPTC) certified training academy for new student officers. Student officers are recruits from police departments across the region.
Bus Transportation to DHSP Afterschool Programs Map Dashboard
Cambridge Public Schools (CPS) provides transportation between schools and some Dept. of Human Service Programs (DHSP) afterschool program sites. This webpage shares more information and includes an interactive map where caregivers can choose their child's school and bus routes to DHSP afterschool programs will populate.
Cambridge Common
Cambridge Common is a 16 acre park, located outside of Harvard Square and surrounded by Massachusetts Avenue, Garden Street and Waterhouse Street. The Common has a long and colorful history, and is an important local resource as well as a tourist attraction.
