Fresh Pond Census Report
This report summarizes results from the Fresh Pond Census Program, which began in 2011. The Census Program quantifies how many people visit Fresh Pond Reservation. The report looks at user trends by year, month, day of the week, and hour. The report data is updated annually and is current through 2024.
Miyawaki Miniforest Community Planting Day
Join the City, in partnership with Biodiversity for a Livable Climate (Bio4Climate), in planting its third Miyawaki miniforest on the grounds of the Peabody Elementary School.
3RD Annual Spelling Bee Finals (Main)
Join us for the 3rd Annual Spelling Bee. The spelling bee aims to enhance the spelling and vocabulary skills of contestants while promoting reading, writing, and appreciation for the power of words. Community members are invited to attend the finals to provide support and cheer on contestants. Cosponsored by the Fletcher Maynard Academy, My Brother's Keeper Cambridge, Sisters with a Dream, and Cambridge Public Library.
Father Callanan Playground at Tobin School
Father Callanan Playground is adjacent to and behind the John M. Tobin Elementary School and has also been referred to as the Tobin School Playground. The play area is behind the Tobin School between Vassal lane and Concord Avenue.
Broadway Project August 2026 Update
Installation on the Broadway Safety Improvement Project is continuing into its final major phase for 2026. Over the coming weeks, you’ll start to see more visible changes on the street in the section between Lee St and Quincy St.
Body Discovered in Water at Fresh Pond
Officers are currently on scene investigating. The preliminary indications are that the body appears to have been in the water for an extended period of time.
