Cambridge Affordable Housing Trust
The Affordable Housing Trust will hold its monthly meeting in-person and via Zoom webinar. Members Sought for Three Cambridge Neighborhood Conservation District Commissions (Application Deadline 2-6-23)
Neighborhood Conservation Districts were established by city ordinance in 1983. Conservation district designation recognizes a distinctive physical environment that reflects the architectural, cultural, political, economic, or social history of the city. NCDs foster wider public knowledge and appreciation of such neighborhoods. Designation encourages the conservation and maintenance of these areas so that the city may be a more attractive and desirable place in which to live and work.
28-30 Wendell Street
Homeowner's Rehab, Inc. (HRI), a local non-profit affordable housing provider, purchased 30 Wendell Street, a current tennis court, from Lesley University in November 2023. Located in the Baldwin neighborhood, the site is in close proximity to the amenities of the Massachusetts Avenue corridor, including shops, restaurants, and public transportation. HRI is planning to create new affordable rental housing on the property under the provisions of the Affordable Housing Overlay (AHO).

In honor of Earth Day, spend your afternoon at the Library creating your own terrarium. In partnership with Emerald City Plant Shop, you will have the opportunity to learn more about different kind of plants and plant care. This event will be conducted in the front park area of the Library. In the case of rain, the class will be moved to the community room. The Library will provide needed supplies.
Paint Party at the Library (O'Connell)
Treat yourself to an afternoon of fun, creativity, and community while a local artist guides us step-by-step through the process of painting a beautiful art piece, suitable for hanging on your door or wall. Tea and light refreshments provided. No experience necessary. All are welcome. Old clothing recommended, as acrylic paint can stain. Seating is limited to 8. Registration is required and will open November 24.
