Existing 28 Wendell

Homeowner's Rehab, Inc. (HRI), a local non-profit affordable housing provider, purchased from Lesley University 30 Wendell Street, a current tennis court, in November 2023 and 28 Wendell, a former dormitory and rental apartments, in June 2024. Located in the Baldwin neighborhood, the site is in close proximity to the amenities of the Massachusetts Avenue corridor, including shops, restaurants, and public transportation.

HRI is planning to create new affordable rental housing on the property under the provisions of the Affordable Housing Overlay (AHO).

 

The Planning Board held a second Advisory Design Consultation for the proposed 28-30 Wendell Street project sponsored by HRI on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.
