The CLC offers three types of English classes in North Cambridge: Beginner conversation classes for older adults, English Class for Parents with Young Children, low to intermediate-level English classes at the CLC's North Cambridge location.

The Commission on Immigrant Rights and Citizenship (CIRC) created a New Resident Guide to serve as a resource for new arrivals in Cambridge. This overview provides information on key, Cambridge-specific providers in the service areas most commonly needed by new immigrants.

Kamishibai (paper theater) is a traditional form of Japanese street theater and storytelling where author illustrator Yumi Izuyama uses her original artwork to tell folktales from around the world, bringing them to life for families with young children. A second generation Japanese Brazilian, Izuyama will educate and entertain us using Kamishibai with both traditional Japanese and Brazilian folktales! Ask questions and learn what you can do to protect the wildlife of Cambridge. For children of all ages and their caregivers. This class is designed for people of all levels to strengthen the muscles, the heart and the brain--all while having fun and moving to great music! Come as you are and take everything at your own pace. This class is conducted from a standing position and incorporates exercises like modified lunges, cardio, and body resistance strength training. Registration for each session is required. This is an in-person event in the Lewis Room of the Central Square Branch Library.

In order to increase the long-term survival of newly planted trees, Public Works has improved pre-planting soil preparation, supervision of the planting process, and post-planting watering and other aftercare.

Learn about the Community Learning Center's Reading/Writing and Math classes for adults and take a placement test. Students work towards their high school equivalency (GED/HiSET) or want to improve their skills.

Take extra precautions to prevent burn and scald injuries. Never get too comfortable or careless when using hot liquids or when cooking. Always respect hot liquids, hot stoves, home heating appliances, and other hot surfaces.
