Registration encouraged but not required. For more information, please drop by the Teen Room or contact Paul at ptrunnell@cambridgema.gov.
Make the City Bloom with a Habitat Corridor ($75,000)
Increase pollinator and bird life in Cambridge by planting native flowers and vegetation along this underused median strip, creating a beautiful habitat corridor linking Fresh Pond and Mt Auburn Cemetery—two major habitats crucial for biodiversity.
Prevention & Public Awareness
The prevalence rates of domestic and gender-based violence are staggering. They are issues that impact all of us and also issues that many people struggle to understand. The DGBVPI works to raise public awareness and understanding through trainings, social media campaigns, visual displays, workshops, etc. The Initiative also works with various organizations to create prevention strategies that are appropriate for their needs, setting, and population.
American Rescue Plan (ARPA) Funding
The American Rescue Plan will deliver $350 billion for eligible state, local, territorial, and Tribal governments to respond to the COVID-19 emergency and bring back jobs. The Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds provide a substantial infusion of resources to help turn the tide on the pandemic, address its economic fallout, and lay the foundation for a strong and equitable recovery.
We Need More Crosswalks
To enhance pedestrian safety and follow MassDOT recommendations, this project will add a minimum of five new crosswalks to major streets.
Kids' Books for Everyone (O'Neill)
People of all ages who enjoy children's books can read and discuss together. Food will be provided. In February we will read and discuss Atana and the Firebird by Vivan Zhou. Copies of the book will be available at the Boudreau Branch, Collins Branch and the O'Neill Branch after it re-opens.
This book group will meet in person at the O'Neill Branch Library. Please register below.
