Harvard Book Store and the Cambridge Public Library welcome Gaelynn Lea—folk musician, Broadway composer, and disability advocate—for a discussion of her new memoir, It Wasn't Meant to Be Perfect. She will be joined in conversation by Adrian Anantawan—violinist, current Chair of Music at Milton Academy, the Artistic Director of Shelter Music Boston, and Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music—and Colleen Flanagan—longtime activist for disability rights, working at the City of Boston Mayor's Commission for Persons with Disabilities as the Outreach and Engagement Specialist. As a result of a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA), a new solar farm is being built in Illinois and Cambridge will receive credits for making new renewable energy available to the grid.

The Community Learning Center (CLC) works to create pathways for current students and alumni to work in the field of adult public education.

Currently, there are several locations where eligible people can receive a a Pfizer booster in Cambridge and neighboring communities.

The Cambridge Public Health Department (CPHD) will be vaccinating homebound residents once the vaccine is available from the state. Currently, CPHD is working with Cambridge Housing Authority, Cambridge Commission for Persons with Disabilities, Council on Aging, Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services, and other City departments to identify, screen, and register homebound individuals for their vaccines, and hopes to begin in-home vaccinations for those eligible sometime in April. This program is for people who would not otherwise be able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine unless they receive it in their home. It does not include individuals who are temporarily homebound; and/or able to leave the home with adequate assistance; or those who would prefer to get a vaccine in their home.

Shortly before midnight on Wednesday, October 7th Cambridge Emergency Communications received a 9-1-1 call reporting that an individual had been shot in the vicinity of Columbia Terrace. Cambridge Police, Fire and ProEMS responded to the scene where they located a victim who was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment. CPD Personnel are on-scene and conducting an active investigation into the circumstance surrounding this incident, there is not believed to be any broader danger to the community at this time.
