Improve safety for people who use the side walk to get to schools, hospitals, and senior living facilities. This project will install raised crosswalks, interactive speed limit signs, and flashing crosswalk signs to assist with safe travel.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts and FEMA announce today a partnership to expand access to the COVID-19 vaccine by bringing 6,000 federal doses daily to the Hynes Convention Center vaccination site, for a total of 7,000 doses per day when combined with the state’s current allocation. The Cambridge Police Department announced the promotions of 7 members to Lieutenants and Sergeants on October 18, 2024. At a ceremony held at the Cambridge Police Department, Police Commissioner Christine Elow promoted two officers to Lieutenants and five to Sergeants.

Free Hands-on Workshop

New poetry will be coming to Cambridge neighborhoods as five winning poems will be imprinted in sidewalks across the city as part of the City of Cambridge’s annual Sidewalk Poetry Contest.

This project will provide funding for Cambridge artists in all media to access space to create art. This could include rental support, maker space memberships, and studio emergency costs.

The MBTA will be resuming Red Line closures the first and last weekends of June and they intend to have extended closures for more than two weeks in the second half of July.
