Abdul Ahmed, 52, of Somerville, was placed under arrest by Cambridge Police on charges of Shoplifting by Asportation, Carrying a Firearm and Ammunition without a License to Carry, Possession of a Class A Drug (suspected heroin / fentanyl), Possession of a Class B Drug (suspected crack cocaine), and Possession of a Class E Drug (prescription pills).

In this monthly book group for readers 15-18 years old, we will read contemporary titles written for a general adult audience that have broad appeal for teens. Pizza provided. For our first meeting, we will discuss some of our favorite books and vote for our first selection. Registration encouraged but not required. September Selection: Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner A book discussion group for adults at the O'Neill Branch Library, reading a mixture of fiction and nonfiction. Past titles include Gathering Moss by Robin Wall Kimmerer and Hamnet by Maggie O'Farrell. Print copies are available for pickup at the O'Neill Branch Library. This month's book selection is also available as an ebook and digital audiobook through Libby/OverDrive.

The Central Square Advisory Committee is appointed by the City Manager to undertake all large project reviews, receive all applications for variances and special permits for activities within the Central Square Overlay District, and monitor the progress of the Central Square non-zoning recommendations of the K2C2 Study.

The City of Cambridge is notifying residents, businesses, and visitors of multiple temporary street closures throughout the week due to several community events. These include the Juneteenth Parade and Celebration, Saint Anthony Feast, Cambridge Arts River Festival, Hoops ‘N’ Health (rescheduled from last week), Cambridge Refugee Food Festival, and the Boston 10K.

The planning team will share recommendations developed with the community that will help to Make Mass Ave more beautiful, produce more housing , provide more neighborhood amenities, support small businesses, and improve sidewalks and walkability

Celebrate the end of summer with neighbors old and new! We will have free food, games, crafts, bubbles and a clothing swap! All neighbors of any age are welcome. At 3:30 p.m. we will have a family-friendly concert with music by Music at the Blissful. This event will happen outside. In case of rain or bad weather there will be modified activities inside the O'Neill Branch.
