Paint Your Truth is a community based process painting therapeutic workshop. This in-person event allows you to express your emotions through the power of painting. Let go of stress and connect with others in a supportive environment. No painting experience needed, just an open heart and mind. Come and discover the healing power of art! All materials provided by the Library.

Explore bones and meet real-live creepy crawlies in this science-based program with entomology expert, Professor Bugman! Registration is required for this program. Please register each child attending the program (adults do not have to register themselves). For questions, please contact the Central Square Children's Room at 617-349-4012. This program is recommended for children ages 4+ and their caregivers.

Since Friday, October 2, seven residents of a Cambridge skilled nursing facility have tested positive for COVID-19. Five of the seven individuals are current residents of the facility; the other two individuals were discharged from the facility prior to testing positive and no longer reside in Cambridge. In addition, one facility employee who does not reside in Cambridge has tested positive for COVID-19.

Pathway for Immigrant Workers (PIW) is a Cambridge-based nonprofit serving the Greater Boston area. PIW represents local employers who would not otherwise have the means to sponsor a minimum wage worker for a green card. PIW will assist low wage workers in employment-sponsored lawful permanent residence applications. After an initial assessment, if appropriate PIW will represent the employer in the immigration process.

This Month's Read: The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu Reading Interests: The group concentrates on science fiction and fantasy. An advanced reading schedule is published each fall. Example selections include: Neuromancer by William Gibson and The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. Requirements: A love of speculative fiction and a desire to talk about books. The group is friendly and informal. How to get the print book: Copies of the print book are set aside at the Main Library Question and Answer desk on the ground floor. Visit the Main Library at 449 Broadway during service hours and a staff member can help you check out a copy. E-books and digital audiobooks are available on Libby or Hoopla. Join us for a lively discussion of a great book in person at the Main Library! Pizza will be provided. For ages 7-10 and a parent or caregiver. This month's book is Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume. Two is a crowd when Peter and his little brother, Fudge, are in the same room. Grown-ups think Fudge is absolutely adorable, but Peter and his pet turtle, Dribble, know the truth. From throwing temper tantrums to smearing mashed potatoes on the wall, Fudge causes mischief wherever he goes! Both caregiver and child should read the book before the discussion to participate.
