Cambridge hosts its annual Supplier Diversity Fair with buyers from all City departments. Diverse businesses are invited to attend.

Join us for a relaxed Saturday morning concert with Radius Ensemble! The concert, geared toward preschool children but appropriate for all ages, features a delightful abridged version of Prokofiev's Peter & the Wolf (at the end of which the wolf, instead of meeting his demise, is taken to the zoo), plus also other silly songs about animals, as well as a show-and-tell of the instruments of the woodwind family. For the final piece of this 45-minute program, children are invited to play along on hand percussion instruments such as tambourines and claves, and each child receives a free colorful shaker to take home. Recommended for children ages 3 to 5 years with caregiver. This program can accommodate 130 people. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. This program starts promptly, and any unclaimed seats will be offered to someone waiting. We appreciate your patience and understanding. We will read and discuss the book in sections as follows: Session 1 - Intro, Barbara Smith Session 2 - Beverly Smith, Demita Frazier Session 3 - Alicia Garza, Angela Davis, comments Session 4 – Reflections on Cambridge present and future Participants are encouraged to come to as many sessions as they can — and all are welcome! Copies of the book are available for pickup at the Central Square Branch. This event was created in partnership with Community Conversations: Sister to Sister, the Cambridge LGBTQ+ Commission, and the Cambridge Women’s Commission.

Cambridge Police Commissioner Christine Elow is proud to announce that the Cambridge Police Department (CPD) has successfully obtained the Advanced Level Accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA®). CALEA was created in 1979 as a credentialing authority through the joint efforts of law enforcement’s major executive associations. A CALEA Accreditation is widely considered in the law enforcement world to be “the gold standard” accreditation, an honor reserved for only top tier police departments. For context, there are approximately 18,000 law enforcement agencies in the United States, and just 1,021 currently hold a CALEA Accreditation of any level.

The Cambridge Animal Control aims to reunite lost pets with their owners. If you find a lost dog or cat, please report it to the city or town where you found the animal. The pet will be held for a minimum of seven days, as required by the state.
