Join the Collins Branch Library in collaboration with the Cambridge Climate Leaders Initiative for a monthly discussion of a climate-related topic. Each month the group will discuss a book on the topic at hand then hear about a related local program or initiative and how you can take action. Topic: Farming for the Future Book: We are Eating the Earth: The Race to Fix Our Food System and Save Our Climate by Michael Grunwald Registration is encouraged, but not required. The city is actively exploring new ways to make bags more accessible and affordable for residents. DPW will be handing out kitchen bins to residents new to the program and one roll of compostable bags to ongoing participants.

The Baker-Polito Administration announced that Massachusetts would advance to Step 2 of Phase III of the state’s reopening plan on Monday, March 1, and also announced its plan to transition to Step 1 of Phase IV on Monday, March 22. With public health metrics continuing to trend in a positive direction, including drops in average daily COVID cases and hospitalizations, and vaccination rates continuing to increase, the Administration is taking steps to continue to reopen the Commonwealth’s economy.

Exercise is crucial to health and wellbeing. This project will install a permanent outdoor fitness station to make outdoor exercise more accessible to the Cambridge community.

The Cambridge Department of Public Works invites you to attend our open house to learn about the Port Infrastructure Improvements Project. The evening includes presentations, a chance to engage with project staff and plans, free pizza, kids’ activities, and more.

The Port is a high-density residential neighborhood with around seven thousand residents, bounded by Hampshire Street to the north, the Boston & Albany Railroad to the east, Prospect Street to the west, and Massachusetts Avenue to the south.
