Family Literacy Fun Day
November is National Family Literacy Month. Cambridge families with children ages birth to 3rd grade are invited to celebrate talking, reading, singing, and telling stories with free books and fun activities!
CPL Nature Club: Seed, Plant and Garden Swap (O'Neill)
Bring extra seeds, plants or harvested items from your garden to swap at the Library! We will also have seeds, soil and biodegradable pots so you can plant flowers and vegetables to grow in the late summer and fall.
This program is open to people of all ages! No registration is required.
Cool Off This Summer: Cambridge Waterplay Features Are Now Open
With temperatures expected to rise into the upper 80s this week, the City of Cambridge is excited to welcome the return of waterplay season! Waterplay features at many neighborhood parks and playgrounds are now open for the summer and offer a fun, free way for kids to cool off and stay active.

From 2016 to 2019, the city undertook a process, Envision Cambridge, which resulted in a series of recommendations guiding the City to a more sustainable and equitable future by the year 2030.
Science Fiction & Fantasy Book Group (Main)
This Month's Read: The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold
Reading Interests: The group concentrates on science fiction and fantasy. An advanced reading schedule is published each fall. Example selections include: Neuromancer by William Gibson and The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch.
Requirements: A love of speculative fiction and a desire to talk about books. The group is friendly and informal.
How to get the print book: Copies of the print book are set aside at the Main Library Question and Answer desk on the ground floor. Visit the Main Library at 449 Broadway during service hours and a staff member can help you check out a copy.
E-books and digital audiobooks are available on Libby or Hoopla.
We'll meet in the Rossi Room on the ground floor of the Main Library.

In Person Early Voting August 27th - September 2nd
Early voting is an opportunity to vote before Election Day. Any registered voter in Cambridge can vote during the early voting period, from Saturday, August 27th through Friday, September 2nd. Unlike Election Day, you are not assigned to a polling location. You can go to any of the Cambridge Early Voting Locations.
Fossil Fuel Free Demonstration Ordinance
The City of Cambridge is working to adopt an ordinance that will require new buildings and buildings undergoing a major renovation to eliminate the use of fossil fuels. Making buildings fossil fuel free means healthier homes and buildings and will help Cambridge reach our climate goals.
